Therapist in Carrollton, TX | ADHD & Christian Counseling

At Healing Harmony, we work with young adults who know something is not right but have a hard time naming what it is. ADHD that makes the gap between capability and output feel wider than it should. A faith that has gotten complicated in the space between what you were taught and what you have actually experienced. An identity built across countries or cultures that shapes how you move through relationships in ways you are still figuring out. A low-grade anxiety or heaviness that is always there in the background. We are not here to hand you solutions. We are here to figure it out with you. If you are searching for a therapist in Carrollton, TX, you are in the right place.
Carrollton has one of the most quietly remarkable demographic stories in North Texas. The stretch along Belt Line Road through the heart of the city has become one of the most concentrated Korean commercial and cultural corridors in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, with a Vietnamese community that has deep roots in the same neighborhoods and a growing South Asian presence throughout the city. Historic Downtown Carrollton, the DART Green Line station, and the Sandy Lake area give the city a mix of settled residential character and quiet community life that sets it apart from flashier neighbors. What makes Carrollton distinct is the depth of bicultural life happening just below the surface of its everyday streets.
A significant portion of the young adults we work with in Carrollton are navigating bicultural or multicultural identities, the expectations that come with first-generation or immigrant family contexts, and the particular internal pressure of trying to live authentically across two sets of values that do not always speak the same language. That kind of navigation is real work and it deserves real support. Sessions are online and available to anyone in Carrollton and throughout the broader Metrocrest area.

Therapy that starts with actually listening We do not start with a formula. We start by listening, not just to what is wrong but to the full picture of who you are: your history, your patterns, the things you want to build, and the things that keep getting in the way. Jeffrey brings both professional training and real lived experience with ADHD and Third Culture Kid identity into every session. That means you are not just understood clinically. You are understood personally.

A free call with no pressure Getting started looks like a real conversation, not a process. The first step is a free 30-minute introductory call so we can hear what is going on and figure out the best fit for where you are right now. There is nothing to commit to before that call feels right.

Sessions that build something real over time Once therapy begins, sessions happen online via Zoom for young adults anywhere in Texas. The first part of the work is about getting to know your story in real depth before anything else. From there, we move toward the clarity, the relief, and the practical tools that actually hold up when life gets hard.

Young adults often arrive at individual therapy at a point when everything they have been trying on their own has reached its limit. That limit is not a sign of weakness. It is a sign that the situation needs something more than self-management, and that is exactly what therapy is for. Jeffrey builds sessions around your specific story from the beginning. There is no generic framework that gets applied before you have been heard. The work is shaped by what you actually need, at a pace that makes sense for where you are.
If faith has become a source of tension rather than support, you are not alone and you are not broken. The questions that come with real experience, real disappointment, and real doubt are part of a genuine relationship with faith. Christian therapy at Healing Harmony is a space where all of that has room. The work here is not about arriving at certainty or performing spiritual health. It is about creating genuine space for what is actually true and walking through it with care. Sessions are grounded in honesty and free from the pressure to look more resolved than you are.
For many young adults, anxiety is a background condition that has been present long enough to feel normal. The low-level hum, the tendency to overthink, the difficulty fully settling even in moments when things are going well. You have adapted around it. But you should not have to. Sessions for anxiety focus on understanding what is actually driving the anxiety rather than just managing the surface symptoms. The shift that clients describe is not about eliminating discomfort. It is about developing a different, more honest relationship with uncertainty.
If you have ADHD, you already know what it takes to move through systems that were not built with your brain in mind. The extra planning, the strategies that work until they do not, the way a hard day can feel like evidence of something much larger. The cost of that over time is real. Jeffrey has ADHD himself and understands the experience from the inside. Sessions are not about learning a universal system. They are about figuring out what actually works for how your brain specifically operates and building sustainable tools around that understanding.
If you grew up between cultures, you already understand what it means to be at home everywhere and nowhere at once. That experience has built real strengths and it has also cost something. Most people in your adult life have not had to carry what you carry, which makes it harder to feel genuinely understood. Jeffrey has lived across six countries and brings that experience directly into his work. He does not need the TCK experience explained before he can be useful. Sessions go into the actual layers of identity, grief, and belonging that come from that kind of upbringing.
Depression tends to be quieter than people expect, especially in young adults. Less like a visible crisis and more like a persistent flatness: difficulty caring about things, trouble finding energy for what used to feel worthwhile, a sense of disconnection that is hard to explain to the people around you. Therapy for depression at Healing Harmony is built around steady, honest work without a predetermined timeline. Sessions create space to understand what is underneath the weight and to begin moving through it. The therapist stays in it with you for as long as it takes.

  • Do you accept insurance?

Yes, Jeffrey accepts Aetna, Cigna, United Health Care, and Blue Cross BlueShield.

  • What if I’m not sure which therapy service I need?

That’s okay. During our intro call, we’ll explore your current challenges and help guide you toward the service that best fits your needs.
