Therapist in Dallas, TX | ADHD & Christian Counseling

At Healing Harmony, we work with young adults who are carrying things that do not have easy answers. ADHD that makes focus feel like a constant negotiation. A faith that has gotten complicated somewhere along the way. An identity shaped by growing up across multiple countries. An anxiety that interrupts daily life even when everything looks fine from the outside. Our job is not to fix any of it. Our job is to listen, and to walk alongside the people who are brave enough to start talking. If you are looking for a therapist in Dallas, TX who will take your story seriously, you are in the right place.
The greater Dallas area stretches across a wide and varied landscape, from the creative energy of Deep Ellum and the Bishop Arts District to the quieter residential streets of Lakewood, Oak Cliff, and Preston Hollow. SMU sits in the heart of University Park, drawing young adults from across the country, while UT Dallas pulls its own community into the Richardson and Garland corridors. Uptown and Knox-Henderson pulse with early career ambition, and the Katy Trail winds through a city that rewards momentum without often slowing down to ask what that momentum is costing people on the inside.
We work with a lot of young adults in this metro who describe the same kind of tension: a city that is always moving forward, and an inner life that needs real space to catch up. We also serve a meaningful number of internationally raised young adults who have settled in the DFW area after years of relocation and find that their experience of growing up between worlds still shapes how they relate, work, and see themselves. Our online sessions make consistent therapy accessible across the metro and into surrounding communities including Plano, Allen, Frisco, McKinney, and Richardson.

Therapy that starts with actually listening We do not start with a formula. We start by listening, not just to what is wrong but to the full picture of who you are: your history, your patterns, the things you want to build, and the things that keep getting in the way. Jeffrey brings both professional training and real lived experience with ADHD and Third Culture Kid identity into every session. That means you are not just understood clinically. You are understood personally.

Sessions that build something real over time Once therapy begins, sessions happen online via Zoom for young adults anywhere in Texas. The first part of the work is about getting to know your story in real depth before anything else. From there, we move toward the clarity, the relief, and the practical tools that actually hold up when life gets hard.

Young adults who come to individual therapy are often carrying something they have been trying to hold alone for a long time. Maybe it is stress that has become chronic, a grief that was never properly processed, a relationship that keeps going sideways, or a sense of being stuck that no amount of trying seems to break. Whatever brought you here, it is real and it deserves more than surface-level answers. Sessions at Healing Harmony are shaped around your specific story, not a generic checklist. We listen to the full picture before we do anything else, and we work at the pace that actually feels right for you. A lot of clients describe leaving sessions with a growing sense of clarity about what they want and what has quietly been getting in the way of it.
If your faith has gotten complicated, or if you are carrying questions you are not sure you can ask out loud, you are not alone and you are not broken. Doubt, spiritual burnout, disappointment with God or with the church, a longing for something deeper that you have not been able to find. All of it is welcome here. Christian therapy at Healing Harmony is a judgment-free space to bring what is actually going on, not the version you think you are supposed to present. Our team has wrestled with faith in genuinely hard seasons and brings that into sessions without pretense. The work is grounded in genuine care rather than in performance or religious expectation, and the goal is not to talk you into feeling a certain way. It is to create real space for what is true and let the Spirit lead from there.
Anxiety does not always look like panic. For a lot of young adults it looks like a constant low hum of worry, avoidance that feels like practicality, a heaviness at the end of the day that does not match what actually happened, or a sense that something is wrong without being able to name what it is. You have probably tried to think your way out of it. Most people have. Therapy for anxiety at Healing Harmony is not about eliminating discomfort. It is about helping you understand what is actually driving the anxiety and building a more honest relationship with the uncertainty that comes with being alive. Clients describe a real shift from feeling controlled by anxiety to having something they can actually work with when it shows up.
If you have ADHD, you already know the difficulty is not about intelligence or wanting to do better. It lives in the gap between knowing what to do and actually being able to do it, between starting things and finishing them, between wanting better relationships and finding yourself in the same pattern again. That gap is exhausting, and it quietly takes a toll on your confidence over time. Jeffrey specializes in ADHD therapy and has ADHD himself. He brings that understanding directly into the work without needing it explained. Sessions are not about applying a universal system to your life. They are about understanding the specific texture of how your ADHD shows up and building from there. Clients often describe walking away with not just insight but tools they can actually use.
If you grew up between countries and cultures, you already know that not fully belonging anywhere is not just a phase. It is a pattern that forms early and shapes how you move through relationships, career, and your sense of identity well into adulthood. Most therapists have not lived it. We have. Together, we have lived across six countries and understand the TCK experience not just clinically but personally. Sessions create space to explore the layers of identity that formed across those years, the grief that came from constant transition, the strengths that most people around you never fully understood, and what belonging can actually look like when home has always been a complicated concept.
Depression for young adults often does not look the way it is described. It is less dramatic than people expect and more like a flatness, a disconnection from things that used to matter, a struggle to find motivation for even small things, or a quiet voice that says nothing is going to change. If that sounds familiar, it is worth saying: those feelings are real and they are not permanent, even when they feel like they are. Therapy for depression at Healing Harmony creates a consistent space to understand what is underneath what you are feeling and begin to work with it rather than against it. There is no rush to perform healing. There is just honest, compassionate work alongside a therapist who will stay in it with you.

Yes, Jeffrey accepts Aetna, Cigna, United Health Care, and Blue Cross BlueShield.
