Therapist in McKinney, TX | ADHD & Christian Counseling

At Healing Harmony, we work with young adults who know something needs to change but are not sure where to start. ADHD that makes the gap between intention and follow-through feel like a personal failing. Questions about faith that have been sitting unanswered for longer than feels comfortable. An identity shaped by living in more than one culture that still surfaces in unexpected ways. A heaviness that has been building quietly for a while. We do not start with a checklist or a diagnosis. We start by actually listening. If you are looking for a therapist in McKinney, TX, you are in the right place.
McKinney has drawn national attention for the past decade as one of the most livable cities in America, and its historic downtown square, Adriatica Village, and the neighborhoods surrounding Craig Ranch give it a character that feels distinct from the surrounding suburban sprawl of Collin County. Collin College's McKinney campus serves a large population of students in early adulthood, and the city's rapid growth has brought a diverse and transplant-heavy community of young professionals who are building careers and adult lives in a community that is still finding its own identity. The pace of that growth can be energizing and disorienting at the same time.
A lot of the young adults we work with in McKinney are navigating that transition between where they came from and who they are becoming, in a city that is doing the same thing at scale. We also serve internationally raised young adults across the McKinney and Allen corridor who are building lives far from where they grew up and carrying questions about identity and belonging that do not always fit neatly into regular conversation. Sessions are online and available from anywhere in the McKinney and Collin County area.

Therapy that starts with actually listening We do not start with a formula. We start by listening, not just to what is wrong but to the full picture of who you are: your history, your patterns, the things you want to build, and the things that keep getting in the way. Jeffrey brings both professional training and real lived experience with ADHD and Third Culture Kid identity into every session. That means you are not just understood clinically. You are understood personally.

A free call with no pressure Getting started looks like a real conversation, not a process. The first step is a free 30-minute introductory call so we can hear what is going on and figure out the best fit for where you are right now. There is nothing to commit to before that call feels right.

Sessions that build something real over time Once therapy begins, sessions happen online via Zoom for young adults anywhere in Texas. The first part of the work is about getting to know your story in real depth before anything else. From there, we move toward the clarity, the relief, and the practical tools that actually hold up when life gets hard.

Many young adults come to individual therapy after a period of trying every other option first. The self-help approach, the better habits, the conversations with trusted people. When those stop being enough, it is not a sign of failure. It is a sign that the work needs to go deeper. Sessions at Healing Harmony are built around your actual story and nobody else's. Jeffrey takes the time to understand the full picture before anything else, and from there the work is shaped around you, your pace, and what you are genuinely trying to move toward.
For a lot of young adults, faith has gotten more complicated with experience, not less. Questions that used to have clear answers have opened up into something harder. If you are in that place, you are not doing faith wrong. You are doing it honestly. Christian therapy at Healing Harmony is a space where the hard questions are welcome and there is no pressure to arrive at a particular answer. The work is guided by genuine care and the belief that sitting honestly with what is true matters more than maintaining a comfortable appearance.
Anxiety often looks like a productivity style from the outside. The person who over-prepares, thinks ten steps ahead, cannot fully settle even in good moments. What it feels like from the inside is different: a constant low-level cost that makes it hard to be present even when things are going okay. Anxiety therapy at Healing Harmony is not about symptom management alone. It is about understanding what is actually underneath the anxiety and building a more genuine relationship with the uncertainty that is a real part of life. That is where lasting relief comes from.
ADHD creates a very specific kind of friction with the systems and expectations most young adults are navigating. It is not about intelligence or effort. It is about the way a neurological difference interacts with environments that were built for a different kind of brain, and the cost of that interaction over time. Jeffrey has ADHD and brings that lived understanding into every session. He knows the difference between what works in theory and what actually holds up in real life. Sessions are built around understanding your specific patterns and developing tools that fit how your brain actually operates.
Third Culture Kids often describe a particular kind of quiet grief that has never been properly named in their lives. The losses that came with constant transition. The identities that were built and then left behind. The experience of being genuinely connected to places and communities that have long since moved on. Jeffrey has lived across six countries and understands what that experience actually costs. Sessions create space for the full story, including the grief, the unresolved questions about identity, and the work of building a sense of home that does not depend on staying put.
Depression for young adults often feels less like a crisis and more like a slow dimming. Things that used to feel worthwhile stop mattering. Energy that used to be available disappears. A flatness that is hard to name but impossible to ignore once it has settled in. Therapy for depression at Healing Harmony creates consistent space to understand what is underneath what you are feeling and begin moving toward something real. There is no rush and no performance required. Just honest work alongside a therapist who will not be going anywhere.

Jeffrey, LPC, can only provide online counseling if you are physically within Texas. If you are based elsewhere, Rebekah can support you under her life coach license.

  • Do you accept insurance?

Yes, Jeffrey accepts Aetna, Cigna, United Health Care, and Blue Cross BlueShield.

  • What if I’m not sure which therapy service I need?

That’s okay. During our intro call, we’ll explore your current challenges and help guide you toward the service that best fits your needs.

  • Can I switch therapists if needed?

Switching may be possible depending on your needs. Since Jeffrey is a licensed therapist who accepts insurance and Rebekah is a life coach, a switch from Jeffrey to Rebekah wouldn’t work if you need therapy with insurance coverage.
